As part of the roll-out of the new diversity monitoring system, the CDN broadcasters wish to put in place a comprehensive training programme for the independent sector and in-house producers, to ensure they understand what the new system is doing, and how it will work. The training should cover the entire end-to-end process for diversity monitoring under Project DIAMOND: from requesting and collecting contributors’ data through to the use of the online system itself to collate the information. It should also address cultural issues to ensure everyone involved – in production companies and contributors – understands why we are doing this and why it is important that everyone plays their role. And it should address Data Protection issues, to cover the handling of sensitive personal data and ensure full legal compliance.
