DV Talent, the leading independent training school, is inviting aspiring Series Producers to apply for a new training initiative funded by Creative Skillset.
The pioneering course will run over 6-months, and feature masterclasses and workshops from leading execs as well as exclusive sessions with Commissioners, 1-on-1 mentoring and networking opportunities at the leading TV-industry festivals.
The course has been commissioned by Creative Skillset, with a significant grant investment, to help address the shortage of network SPs. There are 14 places available, and DV Talent is particularly keen to attract applicants from the nations and regions.
Matt Born, MD of DV Talent, said:
“There is a real bottle-neck in the industry: experienced producers aren’t being given the opportunity to step up to SP because of the risks involved for broadcasters and production companies, but at the same time the perceived shortage of good SPs is causing a real problem for commissioners and Indies.
“This course helps alleviate those risks by giving the participants training and mentor support – particularly in key editorial and managerial areas – alongside their day jobs. It has a proven record for developing new SPs.”
Speakers will include Robert Thirkell, Patrick Uden, Linda Clifford and Vicky Hamburger.
