Our Mentoring Scheme event on the 4th July marked the close of the current scheme model, and provided a chance to highlight the talent developed over the past two years. We ran it as a networking event, with the aim of getting mentees and talent executives from across the industry to connect, and for mentees to celebrate with their mentors and peers.
Both BAME and disabled talent are under-represented in the UK television industry so the CDN Mentoring Scheme aims to provide a tailored development opportunity for selected talent, supporting their individual career aspirations so they have the opportunity to progress.
We enlist influential industry leaders as mentors and the mentor-mentee matches are designed to be mutually beneficial, providing mentors with an experience they can use to benefit their own organisations. It’s a great example of the impact CDN can have in bringing the industry together to take joint responsibility for action on diversity.
